Come As You Are! – Exodus 34:6-7

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Exodus 34:6-7
And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “YHWH, YHWH, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.”

I love these verses. To me, it reveals so much about YHWH. The cool thing about it is that it’s coming straight from YHWH Himself as He is passing in front of Moses.

When we come to him He is compassionate and gracious. He’s even slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness. However, punishment is not removed if we remain in our ways. The choice is always ours. His compassion or His punishment.

In all of this, we simply need to come to him as we are, but change the moment we do. Asking for forgiveness without seeking change to our walk is like putting gasoline in a tank with a hole in it. It gets you no where.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
