Desperate – Psalm 84:2

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 84:2
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of YHWH; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

I remember when I was a teenager I used to love going snorkeling. One time, a bunch of friends of mine and I wanted to see who could go the lowest.

One of our friends was an ex-marine. He always won this competition. However, this time, another friend was determined to beat him. As he went down, the rest of us were talking as we were wading in the water. Time passed to the point where all talking had stopped and we were getting concerned. Then suddenly our friend came thrusting up out of the water several feet in the air and in a panic desperation he breathed in the biggest breath of air you can imagine. He continued to breath hard for some time.

What describes your longing for YHWH? How desperate are you for him? Are you content? Or does your soul desperately long for more of Him everyday? What are you willing to do to get more of Him?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
