1 Peter 2:21 – Your Calling (July 15)
Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Friday. July 15th. The 6th day of the Hebraic week.
Our verse today is 1 Peter 2:21.
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
Whoa. Wait. What? Did you catch that? It said “Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example.” An example? That’s right, an example. That example is to stand up under the suffering of persecution.
The first part of the verse says “To this you were called.” This is a direct reference to the previous verse. That verse says…
And then he says in our verse “To this you were called.” So we are called to suffer for doing good. How many times have you heard this elaborated on before?
We can’t avoid it. The bottom line is that when you stand up for truth, you’re going to ruffle someone’s feathers. You’re going to step on someone’s toes.
Everybody wants to know what their calling in life is. Well now you know it. To follow Yeshua’s example in suffering for good. “To this you were called.”
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
