Out of Place – Ephesians 5:3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Ephesians 5:3
Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

Have you ever seen those pictures that have several other pictures within them with a caption at the top that says something like “which one doesn’t belong?” Maybe there is a bunch of pictures of cats with only one picture of a dog. Or maybe there is bunch of pictures of flowers with only one picture of a weed. Well, it’s pretty obvious which ones don’t belong.

This is what is being spoken to us as believers here in Ephesians 5. There are some things that just simply don’t belong in a believers life. While these may be accepted as “OK” in the world, we as believers need to be mindful of who we represent at all times. Do we really believe these are qualities that Yeshua himself would have exemplified for us? If not, should we then let them be in our lives?

When the Father looks at you and your life, does he see anything out of place?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
