March 3

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Thursday. March 3rd. The 5th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Luke 15:7

7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

This is obviously from the parable of the lost sheep. In order to keep context, lets read the 5 verses of the parable.

Starting in verse 3…

Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

The initial thought that many have is “How can there be more rejoicing over the one than the 99?” It’s not that there isn’t a thankfulness or a gladness for those who have stayed. It’s more to show us just how concerned He is for each and everyone of us as individuals.

His care and concern for each and everyone of us is far more than we can imagine. It just goes beyond our human capacity of reason. Remember, He really does care for you.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!

Comfort Zone

As the saying goes, ships are safe in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are made for. Likewise, it’s nice to have a comfort zone but we can’t dwell in them 24/7. If we hope to grow any at all, we have to step out of our comfort zone and learn to grow in our...
