Pampered People – Acts 5:41

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Acts 5:41
The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

I have always admired this verse. I mean, think about it. They left rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the name. How many believers today could do this? Seriously. What kind of people have we become? Are we willing to suffer in such a way? Are we willing to be spoken evil of for His name?

I have to confess that I’ve been concerned for the body of Messiah lately on this topic. It seems so many of us are quickly offended or even have our feelings hurt if our faith is attacked. If we can’t handle small things today, what will happen if big things come tomorrow? How are you growing in your faith? By knowledge only? What about maturity? What about humility?

A time may indeed be coming where we are persecuted for our faith. How are we preparing our hearts and minds for such a time? Are we preparing at all?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
