Overcome Evil – Romans 12:19-21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Romans 12:19-21
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I love verse 21 here. Again it says “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” When someone does evil to you, it is so hard for us to not want to repay that evil in like manner. It’s only natural. However, we are not called to be only natural. We are called to walk in the supernatural.

It’s not easy. Trust me, I know. The way of forgiveness can be the most difficult to walk in. Yet, it’s without doubt the most rewarding. It’s a way that takes determination. It’s a way that takes perseverance. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
