Do What? – Exodus 7:19

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Exodus 7:19
YHWH said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt – over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs’ – and they will turn to blood. Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in the wooden buckets and stone jars.”

This is the first time that YHWH commanded Moses and Aaron to raise their hand along with the staff in order to accomplish something. I’m sure there had to be something inside them that said “You want me to do what?” But that’s just it. YHWH doesn’t ask of us something difficult. He asks of us something that will simply test our willingness and obedience. Sometimes it may seem silly. It may seem insignificant. Yet, regardless of what it seems to us, we need to obey.

Are you willing to look foolish for YHWH? That may seem like a silly question, but it’s really not. We aren’t called to be cool. We aren’t called to make a name for ourselves. We’re called to obey. Are you willing?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
