Busy Work – Luke 10:41-42

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Luke 10:41
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Ever been busy before? I know. I know. You can stop laughing now. We’ve all been busy. In fact, for the most of us, it seems like we’re never not busy. That being the case, shouldn’t that concern just a little bit? At least in the light of this verse?

What are we so busy with? What is it that consumes our time away? We can look at Martha here and easily see that everything she was doing were things that “needed” to be done. It could have even been labeled as being “ministry work” since it was specifically being done for Yeshua and His disciples. Yet, even in the midst of that “ministry work” Yeshua said there was something better. Something that cannot be taken away.

Don’t get so busy in the work of God that you forget the God of the work.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
