The Invitation – Matthew 4:19

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 4:19
“Come, follow me,” Yeshua said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”

A friend of mine shared a thought about this verse not too long ago that I thought was absolutely brilliant. Notice how this verse says “Follow Me and I shall make you….” It’s not about what I can do. It’s not about what you can do. It’s about about what He can do in us and through us.

Yet, it all starts with us accepting His invitation. The invitation to follow Him. If we accept that invitation, that’s when He starts making us. So it all starts with a willingness on our part. Are you willing to let Him work on you? To make you something that you are not today? Are you willing to go through that change? Or are you looking for His results without going through His change?

Are you wanting all of His good while holding on to as much of you as you can? If so, then who are you really following? Are you willing to accept His invitation and leave you behind?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
