Imitators – Ephesians 5:1-2

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Ephesians 5:1
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children.” When a parent loves their children, it’s only natural for their children to want to be like their parent. And what do we see here but Paul telling us that we are dearly loved children. So what should our natural response be? It should be to be like our heavenly father. That example is given to us in the life of Yeshua. The son of God who lived a life of love. He exemplified it in everything He said and did.

When we imitate Yeshua we live out the very character of YHWH. Yeshua lived out the two greatest commands. To love YHWH with all His heart, mind, soul and strength and to love His neighbor as himself. Remember, he did this to those who didn’t love Him back as well. Can you?

Let’s be imitators of Him today.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
