Shaking Hands – Ephesians 5:5

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Ephesians 5:5
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person – such a man is an idolater – has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.

Have you ever seen pictures or art work of someone shaking hands with an individual dressed up as the devil? I don’t know about you but those kind of images are just creepy to me. Who in their right mind would do such a thing? Right? However, verse 7 here is giving us the same picture.

“Therefore do not be partners with them.”

When we give in to immorality, impurity or greed, we make ourselves partners with those who live that way. Which makes us an idolator with them. These become the gods you serve. You make them into an idol just like those who follow the ways of the world.

So, who are you shaking hands with?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
