In the Light? – 1 John 2:9

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 John 2:9
Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.

Those are some very strong words that many struggle with. Everyone who claims to be a believer likes to think positively of themselves when it comes to “walking in the light.” We think of all that we do in trying to pursue the truth. We know we’re not perfect, but we like think we’re doing pretty good at it.

However, forgiving others will always be a test that we are given. It’s a test, according to this verse, that’s a litmus to see if we are truly “walking in the light.” Yet, many tend to just glance right over this verse and not even ponder the depth to it’s meaning and possible ramifications to our own lives and destiny.

Forgiving is not always an easy thing to do. If you struggle in this area, please make a point to take the time watch our teaching titled “The Need for Forgiveness.” This is not a topic to be second guessing or deceiving yourself on.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
