1 Thessalonians 4:9 – More and More (August 25)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Thursday. August 25th. The fifth day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is 1 Thessalonians 4:9.

1 Thessalonians 4:9
Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. 10 And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.

We all know that we are to be loving one another. It’s obvious that those in Thessalonica knew this as well seeing Paul’s words to them “Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you.” But it’s the last sentence that gets me. He said “Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.”

He encouraged them to not stop growing in their love for one another. He encouraged them to grow more and more. To never be satisfied with their level of concern and care for one another.

Have you ever thought about how you can love others more? Even if you believe that you already do love them, have you ever thought about how you can do so even more? That’s what we are encouraged to do.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
