1 Corinthians 13:4-8 – His Disciples pt. 5 (May 27)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Friday. May 27th. The 6th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verses today is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

Well, here it is. The very topic we have talked about all week defined in pretty good detail.

Now, what I want to do is read our verse again but this time as I read it, I want you to check yourself in how you have responded to others. Either to their face, behind their back or even by way of how you responded to them via e-mail or a FaceBook post. Because of this, please allow me some grace here as I want to read it with all of this in perspective. With a slightly different slant. You’ll understand as I begin reading. Ready?

1 Corinthians 13:4
Love responds patiently, love responds kindly. It does not respond with envy, it does not respond with a boastful attitude, it does not respond in pride. 5 It does not respond rudely, it does not respond in a self-seeking way, it does not respond easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It responds in manners that always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and that always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

Remember, we are to show love to everyone at all times. That’s how we show we are His disciples.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
