Matthew 23:11 – Exalting or Humbling (April 13)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Wednesday. April 13th. The 4th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verses today is Matthew 23:11 & 12

11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Well, it doesn’t get much clearer than that. Yeshua calls it like it is. If you want to be great in the kingdom, be the least. But think about this for a minute. Think how that just goes against everything the world system tells us. We are told over and over again in all kinds of various ways that the greatest is the one in charge. That we should seek to be at the head of the table and not the one serving it. That we should seek the position that everyone looks up to.

Yet, in the Kingdom of YHWH, it is the exact opposite. We should not try to promote ourselves. We are to humble ourselves. We are not to take upon ourselves positions of authority or even positions of honor. Our focus should be that of serving and not that of being honored.

When you are serving YHWH with a humble heart, He will bless you in due time. And if you are exalting yourself, there will come a time when you will be humbled just the same.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
