Philippians. 2:3 – Selfish ambitions (April 7)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Thursday. April 7th. The 5th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Philippians 2:3.

Philippians 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

These are a short two verses that speaks volumes. I mean think about it. The first few words alone can have multiple sermons preached on them. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition.”

Do you focus your life on Selfish ambitions? Yeshua is our life example right? And we see that He lived his whole life for others. His focus was obedience to the Father first and then reaching out to others. Even when they rejected Him, He knew what He was doing would provide a way for all to return to the Father.

Can you do that? Can you reach out to others, even though they are mistreating you? Even though they have no interest in you or what you are saying? Consider all that Yeshua went through. Yet, He continued in His work knowing that what he was doing would help everyone. Including the very ones who were mistreating Him. Is it easy? No. But we can do this.

Our focus is not to be on ourselves. Our focus is to be on what His mission is for us.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
