March 10

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Thursday. March 10th. The 5th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is 2 Kings 6:16.

2 Kings 6:16
“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

In order to keep this verse in context, lets read the surrounding verses to better understand this situation.

2 Kings 6:15
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh, my lord, what shall we do?” the servant asked. 16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, “O YHWH, open his eyes so he may see.” Then YHWH opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

This is just an awesome event to me. It’s a great reminder that we really are in a spiritual battle. It’s so easy to forget that. It really is. Life happens. All we see and mostly experience is the physical.

If you saw the Spiritual warfare going on around us everyday, how would you live differently? Would you live differently. How would you approach each day of life? Now, if you believe this event from 2 Kings is true, what changes should you be making in your life?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
