Just Talking? – 2 Corinthians 7:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Godly sorrow verses worldly sorrow. Salvation verses death.

Have you ever had someone say the words “I’m Sorry” to you before? Did you believe them? I ask because, let’s face it, there are times when it seems you can read right through a person and you can tell if they really mean what they’re saying. You’ve been there right?

It’s like the child that got in trouble and was made to say “Sorry.” So were they truly sorry or just sorry that they got caught? There is a difference.

It would seem that one who has Godly sorrow is one who truly strives for change. Yet, the one who has worldly sorrow is only going through the motions. Godly sorrow brings repentance. That means change. To turn from that way of life and go in another direction. Yet, it would seem that worldly sorrow brings no change. It’s only lip service, if you will.

So, the question we need to ask ourselves is “Which sorrow do we have?” Has there been change in that area of our life? Or are we just talking?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
