Commanding Officer – 2 Timothy 2:4

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Timothy 2:4
No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs – he wants to please his commanding officer.

Our primary focus and desire should be pleasing our commanding officer. So the question is, “Who is your commanding officer?” Who’s in charge of your life? Seriously? Most of us have seen the funny bumper sticker that says “If God is your co-pilot, then your in the wrong seat.” The thing is though, that’s true. He’s not our co-pilot. He’s in charge. Yet, I’ve seen so many believers claim that YHWH is in charge of their life all the while their actions scream the exact opposite.

Who is in charge of your decisions in life? Do you make decisions and then just pray that YHWH blesses them? Do you let circumstances dictate your decisions? Do you ever stop and think “What does YHWH really want ME to do here?” Are you willing to make that decision even if it’s not popular with others?

We can’t forget that He is the commanding officer. Our primary goal in life is to make sure that He is the one we aim to please and not our own wants or desires or that of others.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
