Our Father – Matthew 6:9

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 6:9
This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name…”

He’s our father who’s in Heaven. I understand that there are many who may not have had a good father growing up, but please understand that He is the ultimate father. He truly knows best and what is best for us. This is actually why we see the next part that is given to us.

“Hallowed be your name.” Hallowed. Holy. He’s not your everyday dad. He’s especially not a dad who abandons his Fatherly duties to His family. He cares for His children more than we can ever imagine. We need to understand this. We need to never let it go.

He is a father that is righteous. We need to greatly revere and respect Him as such. Any and every time we come before Him, may we never forget that He is Holy. He is untouched by anything that is defiled.

Sometimes I think we approach Him a little too casually. Sometimes I think we take Him for granted. He truly is holy. May we never approach Him as spoiled children, but always with deep respect in a humble and grateful attitude.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
