He’s in Control – Matthew 14:29-30

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 14:29-30
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

In the previous verses we see Yashua made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him. Then He went up a mountainside by himself to pray. The disciples were having a hard time because of the waves. Yashua went out towards them walking on the water. He actually caught up to them.

They were doing everything He told them to do. However, we see things weren’t going as planned. The fact that Yashua caught up to them by walking should say something about their speed. The point is this, you can be walking in complete obedience, but that doesn’t mean everything is always going to go your way.

The funny thing about this story is that everyone remembers it because Peter sank in the water. Yet, Peter is the only other person in the world who walked on water. Even it was for just a few steps.

Ultimately, when you feel like everything is going against you, remember, your life guard walks on water and He’s in control of the storm.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
