The Next Day – Acts 14:19-21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Acts 14:19-21
Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe. They preached the good news in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch…

Did you catch that? Some people came along and convinced the crowd to not only disagree with Paul but they actually got them to stone Paul because of their disagreement. While that can be a message in itself, the part I want to focus on is what happened after Paul was stoned. After the crowd thought Paul was dead, verse 20 tells us the disciples gathered around him. Then Paul got up and it was “business as usual.”

Paul didn’t cry, complain, or anything like that. In fact, we see the next day he and Barnabas left for the next city. So, what would you do the next day after that?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
