Jan. 9

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday January 9th. The 7th day of the Hebraic week. And Everybody says “HalleluYah.”

Our verse today is Acts 17:11

Acts 17:11
11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

We’ve all heard and read this verse many times before. And we all want to think of ourselves as a Berean. Well, we at least aspire to anyway. Right? But the question I have is “How often do we really aspire to it?”

Let’s face it, everybody studies on Shabbat at least to some degree. But we can’t make that the only day we study. We can’t make that the only day that we get one on one with the Father. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great day for that. In fact, it’s the perfect day for that. However, we can’t let that be the only day we really dig in to the scriptures and study. We can’t let it be the only day we get one on one with the creator of the universe.

Let’s make it our goal to make the Bereans truly be an example for us on a daily basis. Not a weekly basis or “as it fits our schedule” basis. Let’s make it a daily basis as it says in the verse that they “examined the Scriptures every day.”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
