Jan. 5

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Tuesday January 5th. The 3rd day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Ecclesiastes 1:9

9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

I remember when growing up how I really did not like studying history. But now, it seems as if I can’t get enough of it. Especially when it comes to Biblical history. The thing is this, there really is an element of truth to the phrase, “History repeats.”

Take any element of the scriptures in the history of YHWH’s people and you will see how it repeats over and over. Even big events will eventually be repeated again. Like that of the earth shaking as it did in the days Noah.

We need to do our best in studying the scriptures so we don’t make the same mistakes that the children of Israel did. We need to make sure that we don’t end up on the wrong side of history like so many others.

May we read and learn. But more than anything, after that, may we hear and obey.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
