Jan. 3

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Sunday January 3rd. The 1st day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is 2 Cor. 7:1

2 Cor. 7:1
Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

This is an awesome verse that really should cause us to think. So do you focus your life on “perfecting holiness out of reverence for God?” I don’t know about you but this is just an impacting verse to me.

Do you live your life in reverence for YHWH? Do you make all of your decisions out of reverence for Him? If He were right next to you in the physical, would you act differently? Would go to the same places? Would you listen to the same music? Would you watch the same movies? How would your attitudes look?

We all know that He is everywhere and that He virtually IS right next to us. But let’s face it, there are times when we may not live like it. There are times when we allow compromise to take over and we then do all we can to justify that compromise.

Have you ever asked yourself “What contaminates my body and spirit?” What do we allow in our lives that can do this? Anything that breaks the heart of YHWH should break our hearts as well. This could actually be a good rule of thumb of what we allow into our lives.

If it breaks His heart, we should want nothing to do with it.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
