Give Praise – 2 Chronicles 20:20-21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Chronicles. 20:20-21
Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in YHWH your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to YHWH and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to YHWH, for his love endures forever.”

So here we see King Jehoshaphat giving the ol’ pep talk right before going out to battle. Then he sends the choir out in front of the warriors. That’s basically like sending out the cheerleaders in front of the Football team. It just doesn’t make sense. Someone is bound to get hurt. Right?

However, YHWH isn’t restricted to the natural like we are. We see many times in the scriptures where He moves in the supernatural on behalf of His people. Yet, many times it starts with obedience in the face of unbelievable odds. The choir could have said, “Hey. No way. I’m not doing that!” But they didn’t. They gave Him Praise.

So what do you do when facing an unbelievable hard time?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
