Feb 9

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Tuesday. February 9th. The 3rd day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Luke 24:45.

Luke 24:45
Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

Yashua did this for His disciples just after he appeared to them after His resurrection. To get the context here, lets read the verse just before.

Luke 24:44
He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

So we see that it’s obvious that Yeshua told them all that was going to happen but they didn’t get it. They just didn’t quite fully grasp the whole meaning of what was being said. Ever been there? Of course you have. We all have.

How many times have read a verse or two, ones that we have read multiple times before and then suddenly we get a completely new revelation from those verses? We get all excited because we never saw that understanding before. And then we think “Man. Why didn’t I ever see that before?”

Simple, He opened our eyes to it. How important it is that we seek the Father in reading His Word. Don’t read to get knowledge. Read to get closer to Him. Don’t read to prove yourself right. Read to grow in Him.

When you open your Bible to read, pray that He opens your understanding. Just be ready for that understanding to rock your world.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
