Dec. 12 – Psa. 46:10

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday. Dec. 12th. The 7th day of the Hebraic week. And everybody says, “Amen”.

Our verse today is Psa. 46:10

Psa. 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

There are two instructions we see in this verse. The first is “be still” and the second is “Know that He is God.” On the surface these can seem pretty easy. But in real life application, well, it can be difficult.

OK. The first one. “Be still.” Once we get up and get moving in the morning, what do we do? We normally start thinking of all the things we have to get done that day. We start planning out all the things we have on our “to do” list. It’s a fast paced world that we live in and it’s easy to get caught up in the fast lane of life. So we need to make sure that we put “Be still” at the top of our “to do” list. And then put it in parenthesis behind all the following items on that list as well.

The second instruction here seems to be the easiest. To know that He is God. Easy right? Until something happens in your life and suddenly you want to take the reins over. As if you think YOU can do a better job. Or what about a situation where someone is giving you trouble and you start wondering where He is. He is God. Let Him have His way. He knows how to take care of His own. He doesn’t need your help in forcing something to happen or forcing a vendetta.

Our verse again.

Psa. 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
