Daily Needs – Proverbs 30:7-9

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 30:7-9
Two things I ask of you, O YHWH; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, “Who is YHWH?” Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

What a powerful Prayer! The focus of this prayer has nothing to do with self but everything about how he will represent YHWH to the nations.

No falsehood or lies of any kind. Have you ever deceived someone before? You may not have been lying but you know you deceived. Most often falsehood and deception is done to protect self interests and quite often it leaves the other person at the raw end of it all.

The next part of the prayer discusses only receiving what we need. How many of us have never dreamed of striking it rich? Yet never once in those dreams did we think of the negatives those dreams could bring if they came to pass. If we think about it, this whole prayer is all about trusting YHWH. Do you trust in YHWH?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
